Hungary
Online VAT return launch
E-invoicing and e-reporting country mandates are just two components in a wider series of moving parts which help to automate and digitise the fiscal process.
While Hungary is yet to introduce an e-invoicing mandate, the Hungarian government is taking steps to ensure that digitisation is pervading all stages of its fiscal programme.
To this effect, it has launched eAFA, an online VAT electronic initiative, which assists Hungarian taxpayers with the preparation and submission of VAT returns online.
The feature is expected to become fully functional on 1 February 2024, but testing of this functionality is available from January 2024.
The feature is expected to simplify legal compliance and afford customers a customer-friendly solution which will ultimately streamline the legal process.
