Hungary
Online VAT return launch
E-invoicing and e-reporting country mandates are just two components in a wider series of moving parts which help to automate and digitise the fiscal process.
While Hungary is yet to introduce an e-invoicing mandate, the Hungarian government is taking steps to ensure that digitisation is pervading all stages of its fiscal programme.
To this effect, it has launched e-VAT, an online VAT electronic initiative, which assists Hungarian taxpayers with the preparation and submission of VAT returns online.
The feature is expected to become fully functional on 1 February 2024, but testing of this functionality is available from January 2024.
The feature is expected to simplify legal compliance and afford customers a customer-friendly solution which will ultimately streamline the legal process.
