Much like the Czech Republic this month, Italy’s government is also promoting the establishment of so-called VAT groups, which offer a myriad of benefits from a VAT-perspective, including a simplification of the VAT process, less cumbersome VAT-related duties and increased VAT concessions.

The deadline for creating a VAT group has now passed in Italy, on 2 October 2023. Applicants who successfully met the deadline can expect the formation of a VAT group to take effect from 1 January 2024.
